"Shows Up Every Morning" Goldfinch Mug — Yellow Bird Coffee Cup (11oz)

Reliable, bright, and there before you are.

A yellow bird and three words that work equally well as a compliment and as a description of the person drinking from it.

About the bird. The American Goldfinch is the most reliable regular at a nyjer feeder, and also the one that fools everyone. Summer males are lemon-yellow with a black cap and black wings; by December the same bird has faded to olive-buff, and half the people who feed birds report a new species at the feeder every autumn. It is the same bird. It just changed clothes.

Goldfinches also nest later than almost anything else in North America, waiting for midsummer thistle down to line the nest — which is why you see fledglings in August.

The mug. 11 oz white ceramic · glossy finish · dishwasher and microwave safe · lead- and BPA-free · printed to order in the USA, ships in 2–5 business days.

There is a matching American Goldfinch print in the Field Notes series.
