Every backyard has regulars. The cardinal who shows up at dawn. The chickadees that argue over sunflower seeds. The hummingbird that comes back every May, right on time.
The Bird Porch is for the people who notice them — who keep binoculars by the kitchen window, who name the feeder visitors, and who can tell a goldfinch from a house finch before the coffee is ready.
Designed around the field marks
Our designs are created in-house, digitally, for The Bird Porch. We build each bird around the marks that actually settle an identification: the female cardinal wears the same crest and the same thick orange bill as the male; a nuthatch comes down the trunk head-first; a goldfinch in December is olive, not yellow. People who watch birds notice when a picture gets that right — and when it doesn't. If you ever spot a mistake on one of our designs, tell us and we will fix it.
Your birds, not somebody else's
Most bird products show the same four songbirds, from nowhere in particular. Our Backyard Birds line is built state by state — all 50 states — with every bird labeled by name. We pick and check the birds against Project FeederWatch data from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology: the species volunteers in each state report at their feeders most often. If a regular at your feeder is missing from your state, tell us.
What we don't claim
We make bird gifts, not field guides. Our bird identifier narrows a bird down while it is still on the feeder; for a confirmed identification we will always point you to the free Merlin Bird ID app and to eBird, both from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
Printed to order in the USA
Every order is printed on demand by our production partners in the United States. Production takes 2–5 business days, and delivery usually 3–7 business days after that. Printing to order means nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing gets thrown away.
